Summary:
This event entails sessions on 5 different Google products (i.e GSA Program, Google Drive, YouTube Monetization , Power of Search with Google, Google+) to help familiarize the student body with the plethora of resources available. Each speaker will present his/her product by means of an informal and interactive session and will be aided by a series of informative presentations and Hands on sessions.

Overall objective of the event:
The event aims at providing the students a deeper understanding of Google Technology that would help enhance their productivity and use of resources. Once we have whetted their appetite for more details, we plan to use their feedback to chalk out our subsequent events.
Moreover our vision was to interact with the students of non GSA campus and discuss the problems they are facing without Google Apps being embedded in their campus.

Highlights of success:
Around 250 students gained knowledge regarding Google Technologies including Sessions of:


-GSA Program by Pranshoo Srivastava;
-Power of Search with Google by Kunal Sapra;
-Google Drive by Pranshu Srivastava;
-Google+ by Manoj Bingi;
-YouTube Monetisation by Kriti Pandey;
-YouTube Case Study of Monetised Videos by GSAs (Pranshu and Naman):
Expert Tutes  and “Solid Works Tutorials”.

Students really shown their interest for upcoming GSA Program and every student including faculty shown their interest for the same and we discussed about future opportunities for a campus also when there is a GSA(including (apps)technology implementation ,etc.)

After the session in the ending ceremony GBU event organisers greeted us with mementos, that was so nice as their enthusiasm and excitement to have an GSA outreach program in their campus was glittering on their faces.
It was really a worth full Event in a NON GSA CAMPUS.

Logistics/Planning:
Individual tasks were divided among the GSAs. Sessions were assigned to GSAs based on the Google product in which they are expert.  An Audi was booked in GAUTAM BUDDHA UNIVERSITY to conduct the event. Projectors and Internet system were available at the venue.
Whole event at the campus level was organised by GBU Students who communicated me and other GSAs, asked about the logistics needed.


Key learning:
  • We really enjoyed organising the event and I am happy that GSA-Delhi are working in a team and organizing events.
  • This was a Non GSA campus so our experience was bit different, here we have to make them understand about each of the confusions thei might have w.r.t. Google.
  • Publicity needs to be taken care as we ultimately ended up spreading the word about event to limited set of people(only GBU students attended the event).
Follow-up actions:

  • A feedback form sent to all the participants.
  • We will be working with participants to help them out to in case they find any difficulty in implementing their leanings from event.

GSA NEW DELHI – Outreach Initiative Program

The Initiative revolves around teaching and guiding students of various colleges, schools and NGOs of areas in the NCR region. The programme will empower the students with a credible sense of Google Technologies.

Need of the Program
The program will cater to Google Technologies like Android, YouTube, Google+, Google Drive, Gmail, Maps, Adwords and Google search. In the program, workshops will be organised catering to all these technologies.

Workshop Layout
1. Introduction of the Google Student Ambassador Program and Its outreach initiative.
2. Small sessions of the above mentioned technologies. Speakers will share their experiences and enable the students on how to go about these technologies? The sessions will primarily focus on teaching students How to Monetise? How to go about making an App? How to create a Google + page? Hence connecting them to information.
3. After these sessions, a small QUIZ will be done, testing students what they have learnt?
4. Certificates (Of GSA NEW DELHI) and swags will be only given to students who get 90% of the question right.

Surf Better With These 9 Killer Google Chrome Extensions

 Google Chrome has a whole bunch of extensions meant to make browsing the Internet better, faster, and more secure. But which ones do you really need? Start with these nine.


Released in September 2008, Google’s Chrome Internet browser has wasted no time in dominating the Web. It was swiftly adopted by users looking for a cleaner, more intuitive interface for visiting their favorite websites. By May 2012, Chrome hadsurpassed Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, claiming 310 million users and nearing 40 percent of all Internet browser users.
Today, according to W3Schools, a popular web developer information website, Chrome users make up 54.1 percent of all Internet users who visit a major browser (a list which also includes IE, Firefox, Safari, and Opera). It’s a rate that continues to grow.
For most, it’s a simple user experience. You open your browser, check your email, maybe read The Daily Beast, check Facebook, and sign off. But for some Chrome power users, like yours truly, there exists a suite of available Chrome extensions that can make all the difference.
I’m here to tell you my favorites.
Simply download these nine Chrome extensions to hack your Internet browsing experience and make it better, faster, and more secure. And if you’ve got a few favorites of your own, I’d love to hear all about them in the comments.
1. Keep your web surfing experience ad-free with Adblock Plus.
The pitch: “Enjoy surfing the web without obtrusive ads cluttering your screen!” Adblock Plus is probably the first extension I ever downloaded for Chrome. As someone who is visiting various websites all day long, this one’s a must-have. Said to be the world’s most popular browser extension, the open-source Adblock Plus will block those pesky YouTube video ads, Facebook ads, various web pop-ups, and any intrusive banner you get sick of seeing on your favorite websites. Now we at The Daily Beast are in the ad-supported publishing space, so tools like Adblock Plus actually might keep some dollars out of our pockets—and so I probably shouldn’t even be telling you about this—but this extension is too good to keep from you. More than 10 million fellow users agree.
2. Take those longer articles on the road with Pocket.
The pitch: “The best way to save articles, videos and more.” I used to be a diehard Instapaper user, which let me take the longer-form articles I wanted to read, on the road, so I could read them during my evening commute home. Pocket has the same functionality, but more. With Pocket, you can save entire web pages, videos, and tweets. All the content is displayed beautifully on any devices—it works particularly well on my iPad—and is synced from desktop to smartphone in real-time. I also really like the tagging feature, which lets me group #recipes together, or #sports reads, for easy discovery later down the road.
3. Save time and see every photo with Hover Zoom.
The pitch: “Enlarge thumbnails on mouse over.” Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, Flickr, Amazon, Netflix, Google; the Internet’s biggest websites are full of thumbnails—those tiny photographs that usually give way to bigger photographs if you click on them. The idea behind the Chrome extension Hover Zoom, then, is to make seeing those images a heck of a lot more simpler. Just mouse-over. The thumbnails are enlarged when you move your mouse over each photo, meaning you don’t have to click and open a new page to see it in full size. It’s nice. And it’s really sped up my consumption of photographs on image-heavy websites. I love Hover Zoom.
4. Never lose text in a web form again with Lazarus.
The pitch: “Autosaves everything you type so you can easily recover from form-killing timeouts, crashes and network errors.” Lazarus is a god-send. I couldn’t guess how many times I’ve been filling out some form on the web only to have my browser freeze, or my cat accidentally hit the refresh button, only to lose it all. Thanks to this handy extension, that’ll never happen again. Working silently in the background, Lazarus auto-saves everything you are typing just in case you happen to lose it all. It’s all encrypted, and is saved locally on your machine, according to the extension’s listing.
5. Always surf safely with HTTPS Everywhere.
The pitch: “Encrypt the Web! Automatically use HTTPS security on many sites.” Every time you visit a website your computer communicates with a web server on the other end, which is hosting the website. Unless you’re using your email, a bank’s website, or, say, Twitter, the exchange point between your computer and the server is mostly unsecured. Using HTTPS, however, changes that, and makes sure your information is protected and encrypted as you happily surf across the web. Released by the non-profit Electronic Frontier Foundation, in partnership with the Tor project, the extension promises “it will protect you against many forms of surveillance and account hijacking, and some forms of censorship.” Bonus: Aaron Swartz, the open-Internet activist who tragically took his own life in January of this year, gets a “special thanks” from the EFF for his work on the extension.
6. Know who’s tracking you with Ghostery.
The pitch: “Protect your privacy. See who’s tracking your web browsing with Ghostery.” They know when you are sleeping. They know when you’re awake. They know if you’re being bad or good on the Web for goodness sake! Want to know who “they” are? Ghostery makes that possible. Ghostery, the company says, sees the “invisible” web. This means the extension helps you detect all the various “trackers, web bugs, pixels, and beacons placed on web pages by Facebook, Google Analytics, and over 500 other ad networks, behavioral data providers, and web publishers” that follow you as you surf. And in doing so, Ghostery gives you the ability to go dark—or at least helps you watch the watchmen.
7. Turn all those unwieldy tabs into one manageable list with OneTab.
The pitch: “Save up to 95% memory and reduce tab clutter.” I have a confession. I am a chronic sufferer from the too-many-tabs-ititis. What’s that, you ask, healthy Web surfer? A clear indication of my disease is that within minutes of firing up my Internet browser my screen is riddled with as many as 45 “tabs” in the same window. It’s habit. I open one, then open another, then another then another then another and before you know it I’m up to my neck in resource-draining nonsense I’ll never actually read. *takes breath*. That’s why I have OneTab, which converts all those nasty tabs into one easy-to-manage list. You should have it too. Trust me.
8. Always know the meaning of those big words with Google Dictionary.
The pitch: “View definitions easily as you browse the web.” The Google Dictionary extension is pretty self-explanatory. You see a word, but are perhaps unclear as to it’s meaning. And so, you highlight it. Bam! A pop-up appears with the full definition, an option to hear the word pronounced, and a link for “more,” which leads to the word’s definition in the context of Google’s search results. It’s an all-around minimally-invasive plug-in that’s endlessly helpful for people who do a lot of reading on the Web. Next time you encounter “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis,” you’ll know exactly what to do.
9. You’ll never forget another password again with LastPass.
The pitch: “LastPass is a free online password manager and Form Filler that makes your web browsing easier and more secure.” LastPass is a dream come true. We wouldn’t want to know how many hours of our lives we’ve spent filling in the same credit card number, the same shipping address, our phone, email, password, again and again and again, every website wants the same exact information! With LastPass, that problem is no more. The free extension stores this information locally on your machine, where it’s encrypted, meaning not even LastPass knows what’s being entered into those forms. If you do a lot of online shopping, or signing up for new Websites, this extension should most definitely be in your toolkit.

In this Web Era, everyone who owns a website wants to see himself on the first page of the Google search results. How is this done? Search Engine Optimization is responsible for showing your links or websites on the first page.

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a webpage in the organic (unpaid) search results of a search engine. In simple words, the earlier and more frequently site appearing in the search results will have more visitors from the Search Engine Users. SEO targets different kind of searches. Example:- video search, music search, image search etc.

How to Optimize Your Website for Search Engine?
Here are 6 tips that can help you optimize your web appearances for a search engine-

Tip 1. Spend Time Creating Quality Articles
Search the market well and pick topics which people take interest in. Think as a reader and develop the content readers want. You should create quality pieces that are useful and engaging readers. Search Engines will recognize your efforts. If you post quality content your readers will share the content and this will bring traffic to your websites. Write content which people like to share on social networking sites like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.

Tip 2. Try to get Links to your Pages from other Websites
Even if you are new to the Web World you can try to get links to your pages from other websites. Do not do this as give and take processes i.e. do not share their links from your websites but instead you can write particular articles on them as a client.

Tip 3. Word Count
Try to maintain a ratio of around 250-700 words per article or per page. Though it is mostly seen that readers online don’t actually read but according to Search Engine posting these many words means you add more details on the topic.

Tip 4. Beware of Duplicate Content
Do not paste copied content. Research and create unique content. You can also opt for sites like www.siteliner.com which keeps an eye on duplicate content.

Tip 5. Image Attributes
Always complete all image attributes like title, caption, alternate text etc. Only then search engine will deal with the images.

Tip 6. Page Formats
Use proper page formats. Complete the complete page setup like header, navigation bars, title tags and page contents etc.

Being a GSA

At The Leela, Goa
July 2013,I got a mail, the time was around  morning 10 am when I opened it.., when I was at my home and was enjoying my holidays just after my semester exams...I was just woke up and was checking my mail box in a regular way......I saw a mail written “CONGRATULATIONS!!” in  subject...i thought it’s one from the regular advertisements mails who says : “Congrats you  are our weekly winner!!!.. You’ll get 10% discount on the shopping of Rs 9999/-”... (Come-on if I have 10,000 bucks, there will be no need of 10% humbleness)...But unfortunately my luck was not so much lucky.  :P
Coming back to that “Congratulations” Mail...when I opened it...in a very colorful way what was written you know???....it was : “Congratulations Pranshoo Srivastava, You are selected as a Google Student Ambassador for year 2013”...Those red,blue,Green,Yellow colour CONGRATULATION made me mad in happiness... just one word from Google and it was my  first Gift from Google..Then I started reading it with lot of excitement ....again one more gift...Training in Goa....Google you made my Vacations!!!!...that day I was very much happy..This news made me imagine those beeches and sunset whom I was missing from lots of years to experience them for the first time...Google made my dream come true...life’s first Flight (with 2 take-off and 2 Landings, From New Delhi to Goa via Mumbai) with Google team of all GSAs to a destination which was not less than a dream for me.
Everything started Back to back and the Credits Goes to Google and the way everything was going those days.
When we landed Goa (1st Aug 2013) and reached our final destination... “THE LEELA”, wonderful welcome with Google Goodies... Gmail Bag + T-Shirt + Google Pen+ back to back Swags, fun.... 5 Star hotel was expected but  with a Private beech!!! They made our time ...you can’t talk about anything that was not available for us from Google.......all the GSAs was welcomed with flowers and love...Now the main part started – (GICS)Google India Community Summit-2013 (Googlers ,EX-GSAs , GDG, GBG and  275 GSAs from the length and Breadth of India under a single Roof)....it was just marvelous and Awesome when we listened them with their experiences and ethics they served us an opportunity to be a GSA in a right way...at that time any person with attached ‘ Google’  was a source of a Question that, who is going to click our Picture with them(it was a bit childish excitement, but yes I was a small child those 4 days)...but that Summit made me learn many ethics and helped me to explore myself with the help of  lots activities and with such a sweet , humble and helping Program Manager- Mr. Deepak Sridhar and a cute and loving GSA Community .....New friends..., feeling was somewhat like a 1st Class Student but confidence was of a College Student...a professional...a trend maker.....we meet... We all enjoyed together with a Cultural night which was full of fun,dance,and full madness....morning starts with a breakfast like a king... day goes in training and fun activities...evening ends with mind blowing, yummy Lunch and tea Breaks...night comes and we was never tired...there was so much to enjoy..So much to live...really every night of mine was gone inside the  salty water .even the tides was also excited to see us enthusiastic so they was also high and everybody was enjoying...once it rained heavily but we are also not salt made..... the level of excitement was on the top most level...
Clicks..Clicks...Dance....Dance....Shouting...Enjoying....playing......again we was inside water as it stopped raining....morning sunrise...evening sunset....afternoon training...evening planning.... those 4 days gone and it was un-noticed....
Last Day of our Summit(5th August 2013): I was not on the training sessions(mentally), as soon as it get over we went to the beach all Friends....and we all was watching to the sea and tides....they was unchanged... and I was thanking Google...God.......my Parents...for everything in just 4 days and 3 nights....
Those 4 days was not an ordinary days for me...It was a part of my dream which was in front of me standing and saying ....Pranshoo....wake up!!!....I am real.....you are in Goa only...and now you have to go back...but have to come back soon.....with a Colorful GSA Community and with lots of new friends...Every time we work, party and celebrated each moment with Google..
